Whether you need advertising for a medical practice, a white paper for a technical field, a report for clinical trials, an article for a trade magazine, or something a little different (scripts, blogs, and other specialized services), you can feel confident in your choice of Wayfarer Writing.

For medical writing, technical writing, and creative projects, I like to start with a complimentary discussion about your needs and goals, and the specific parameters of your project. This is your chance to delve deep into what you're hoping for from a professional writer, and my chance to capture the essence of your unique business and the project. From there I'll prepare a personalized project proposal, complete with timelines, fees, deliverables, and more.
For magazine writing projects, I like to start with a discussion about what you're seeking from a writer, typical fees, the specific assignment details, deadlines, and more. As part of this process, I will request recent issues of the magazine to familiarize myself with the specific style you pride yourself on.
For all projects, I work quickly and efficiently and will keep you up-to-date on my progress. When initial drafts are submitted, they are provided with the assumption that it is a work in progress. Your input, revisions and changes will make it the complete, comprehensive, and compelling work you want and need.

When I was in elementary school, I decided to ape the often unintentionally humorous contents of my mother's magazines. I wrote my first issue of the parody "Weird Woman," complete with advertisements, self-help articles, and advice columns, for what must have been the very small demographic of women considering themselves strange. Not a successful venture by adult terms, but it may just have been the beginnings of my writing career. And it did give my parents a laugh.
Since then I've honed my writing through training and practice, earning degrees from the University of Iowa English and Journalism programs. Through 5 years of writing positions at University of Iowa and Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, I expanded my expertise in healthcare, medicine, and clinical trials. Along the way I earned a Master's in Literature from Northwestern.
Since 2006, I've tackled the fascinating, the diverse, and the unique with numerous independent writing projects and clients. In addition to medical writing, technical writing and feature writing, my work also entails blogs, fiction book projects, essays, and more.
I'm a proud member of several writing and marketing organizations, including IdeaXChange. I'm also honored to serve as Marketing Director and Vice President of the Chicago Creative Coalition.
